Easy Breakfasts
We love easy over here! I’m a firm believer that everything doesn’t have to be complicated. Breakfast is one of those meals that I try my best to find easy, fulfilling options. I know many of us have busy schedules and the last thing we need to do is figure out what we want to eat.
Kale and Sausage Breakfast Pizza enters the chat!
When it comes to good food, the first thing to remember is you don’t have to sacrifice quality for convenience. Surprisingly, you can have the best of both worlds! I have the perfect recipe idea for busy mornings or lazy weekends — Kale and Sausage Breakfast Pizza! What I love about this pizza is that it’s customizable. Although I use ground sausage, you may also use plant-based ground sausage or your choice of protein. Similarly, with cheese, you can use your favorite shredded blend, In addition, if you’re vegan/vegetarian, you can opt for dairy free. This pizza is so delicious and it serves an excellent grab-and-go option might I add!
Ingredients You Will Need for this Breakfast Pizza:
Ground Sausage: You can use regular or spicy ground sausage. On the flip side, if you would like to make it meatless, Impossible Sausage is a great alternative. Food hack: cook your sausage before hand and freeze it. When you’re ready to make your pizza, take sausage out of the freezer to thaw for a few minutes, and bake your pizza!
Pizza Crust: This breakfast pizza is all about convenience. As a suggestion, a ready-to-bake pizza crust is ideal for this recipe. As a matter of fact, if you would like to make your own pizza dough, feel free to do so.
Shredded Kale: You can use fresh chopped kale or kale in the bag (which is what I used).
Mozzarella Cheese: Adding mozzarella will give this pizza a traditional pizza vibe.
Shredded Cheese: I like using Colby and Monterrey Jack or a three or four-blend shredded cheddar. With this is mind, if you would like to use one cheddar such as mild/sharp cheddar, it will be just as delicious.
Marinara Sauce: Store-bought marianara or pizza sauce in the jar works just fine!
Garlic: I love garlic! The more the better. You can use as much or little as you like.
Egg: Cracking an egg into a well of kale (on top of your pizza), makes a beautiful pizza with an extra side of protein! Totally optional.
Salt and Pepper: Ground sausage is typically seasoned, futhurmore, use salt and pepper to taste.
