Add watermelon juice, lemon juice, and coconut rum/vodka/gin to shaker.
Add basil leaves and muddle, twisting your wrist to muddle about 5 to 6 times to release the juice from the basil leaves. You don't want to twist more than that.
Add ice then shake vigorously.
Using your strainer, pour your drink over ice.
Garnish with fresh herb of choice.
Serve and enjoy!
Notes
MAKE IT A MOCKTAIL!If you're swapping out gin for tonic water, you may want to add a touch of simple syrup if you find the sweetness has been slightly diluted. Try it first because you'll be surprised how deliciously sweet natural juices can be. I hope you enjoy it! WATERMELON BASIL BREEZE MOCKTAIL (Per Serving) Ingredients
Juice of one lemon
4 basil leaves
2 ounces tonic water, optional
Simple Syrup, optional
1 Sprig, Rosemary, for garnish
DirectionsFollow the instructions above, and instead of adding the tonic water in the beginning, add it over ice, pour your fresh juice with muddled basil into your glass, and give it a gentle stir. Serve and enjoy! Note: Same equipment for the Watermelon Basil Breeze (Gin) Cocktail can be used for this non-alcoholic version.
