I have been on the quest for the perfect planner. My obsession with journals, stationary, and planners dates back to my Christie’s Pals era (circa 1980’s/1990’s. You can also blame my age on the spelling of CP because I honestly don’t remember). Christie’s Pals was this cute, little store in our local mall where little girls could find any and everything: Hello Kitty, My Melody, Little Twin Stars—basically Sanrio everything! This turned into an adult obsession.
As for my planner, I need to find THE ONE. It has to be perfect for my busy lifestyle, which includes my normal schedule and activities, blogging schedule (I’m really working on this in 2016), and my workout/race schedule.
A few weeks ago, I almost had an overnight lock-in in the journal/planner section at Target. I was determined to find “the one”. When did planners become so popular? I really want to know!
I wanted a chevron print planner, but they didn’t have any or they were MIA. They even had planners with whimsical patterns, sunflowers, and solid colors. Then I found a simple, clean planner from Sugar Paper. It has the cutest, peach almond polka dots on each monthly calendar. I use my gold gel pens that I found in the $1 section to write in it! And when did glitter and gel, colorful pens become so popular?
The Sugar Paper planner is a very nice, basic planner that I can alternate between; however, I want more of a journal-style planner. I’ve had my eye on a few like the Erin Condren Design LifePlanner found here. I like having vertical, horizontal, or hourly options.
I also love The Happy Planner idea from me & my BIG ideas! It seems perfect for the scrapbooker or for someone who likes to creatively, piece their planner together with stickers, tabs, and all kinds of fun stuff!
I think I’m leaning towards the Erin Condren LifePlanner. I hope to find the perfect planner before I get six months into 2016. I guess it’s a good thing they are popular. Less chaos in the world is exactly what we need!
UPDATE! As of January 2016, I have been using the Erin Condren LifePlanner, and I absolutely love it! I was fortunate to catch it on sale receiving 20% off (including a wellness journal), and I still would have paid full price for it. Get a look inside of my Erin Condren Life Planner here. I love my EC Life Planner! I’m still learning the best way to use it, but there are so many options. Plus, in the vertical format, the different sections make it great to balance work, kids, whatever. Good luck finding the perfect one for you!

Thank you!!! I ended up going with the horizontal Erin Condren life planner! I love it so far. Next year I plan to go with vertical. You can read my review here: https://www.myprettybrownfit.com/2016/03/erin-condren-life-planner-year-mermaid/
