Today is the first day of my two-a-days (meaning two workouts/activity sessions in one day). I wanted to challenge myself, to keep this going for at least 28 days. We all know that it takes 28 days to form a habit. It will not be consecutive days, because I believe the body needs time to rebuild and refuel…but it will be consistent.
I run from time to time, but I was totally re-inspired by two women who make running a part of their weekly routine and they have achieved the desire results that I am aiming for. Being a witness to what can happen as a result of hard work and dedication is enough to ignite you.
It’s been a minute since I’ve hit the actual pavement. As a matter or fact, the last time I did, it was back in the Winter with my friend and fellow Black Girls RUN member. So yes, it’s time to get back out there. I’ve always been athletic/active. I cheered and danced for many years in high school and college, but of course as you age, things change and it’s a little harder to keep weight off, climb stairs, or run from the top of the hill to the stop sign. I committed myself back to the gym over a year ago, and I’ve been going hard ever since. I’m so close to one of my BIG goals, and I knew it was time to kick it into overdrive. I will run/jog several mornings throughout the week, in addition to my regular workout schedule. My goal is to run at least 15 miles per week.
I’m excited about this challenge!

Is the challenge two runs a day?

No, it’s two workouts a day. I already workout 5-6 times a week depending on my body and whether it needs rest, But I’m totally not opposed to two runs. Since I will be running early morning, on some days – I may do a few miles on the treadmill before leaving the gym!

Oh, ok! I read that and thought about trying to do the two workout a day thing, then realized two runs a day may kill me. :) Thanks!

Heyyy girl!!! I totally feel you on the frustration, but you/we have to MAKE time! It’s hard sometimes but you can do it. I had to kick it up that’s why I’m doing two-a-days. I hate morning workouts, but my body needed something different! Keep it up girl! The more you do, the closer you are to your goal!
