I had such a great day yesterday! Of course anytime you involve shopping and saving money…that will make anyone happy! I decided to go thrifting and boy did I have a fun time!
For those of you who don’t know what “thrifting” means:
Definition: Thrifting refers to the act of shopping at a thrift store, flea market, garage sale, or charity shop, usually with the intent of finding interesting items at a cheap price.
Back to my experience…I went in with every intention to find a denim jacket like the one I most recently gave away…but much to my surprise I found TWO jackets in great condition, both for a little of nothing! Talking about ecstatic….Yeah that was me! :) I couldn’t go and not scale every single aisle. lol I think I stayed a little longer than expected, but partly because I ran across so many neat items! So…I decided to do a last stroll through the store and stumbled upon this treasure! It was the EXACT same rug my Mom had in our bathroom back in the early 80’s! lol Actually this rug could be from the late 70’s. I was so tickled, because it took me back to my childhood instantly!
Not only did I find a rug, but I also found the purse that I begged my Mom for when I was about in the 3rd grade! Who doesn’t remember this purse by Connection? I think every little girl that I grew up with wanted or at least had one of these purses! Enough basking in excitement down memory lane, next I will give you a sneak peek of some great 1980’s looks that I found! Check the deets next!
This has to be one of my favorites! I love the beautiful colors, design, and the contrast of patterns on the lapel and body of this jacket. The fit is lovely!
I found this hot Vintage 1980’s “dinner” jacket in beautiful, bright yellow! This style jacket was worn on shows such as “Miami Vice” and “Dynasty”! If you’re old enough, your remember! Oh and to let you know how 80’s this jacket is…the BIG shoulder pads are still in tact! And don’t think I would dare compromise the look…those babies are staying in! Besides I am an “80’s Baby”, so why not? But did I tell you my Mom still has quite a few of these jackets?!?! I’m so glad she didn’t get rid of them. They fit perfect and are great for a night out on the town!
Below are two other jackets similar to the one I have. I saw these online and I loved them!
OKAY…BACK TO MORE FABULOUS FINDINGS!
Another fave is this cute red, jacket with a Peplum waist!
I also found this genuine leather, black crossover bag! This is going to be great when I’m outside doing a lot of walking (i.e., in the park, at an event, out of town, etc.). I kinda want to get rid of the charm on the zipper, but who knows I may keep it like this.
This little bag was too cute to pass up! Don’t worry all of you animal lovers…this is faux fur! I will totally be rocking this bag come Fall/Winter!
I found tons more but I wanted to share with you some of my fabulous pieces. I didn’t post my new pastel, floral skirt that I will be wearing on an upcoming trip to New Orleans (NOLA) with my fiancé. I can’t wait to wear it! Don’t worry, I can’t mention it without having a blog post showing it off! ;) I have quite a few girlfriends who love to go thrifting, so I certainly cannot wait to go back!
Well until next time, have a fabulous week!
