Staying active with Peloton. Where do I begin? From cycling, meditation, yoga, and walking. One of the best investments I ever made. Yes, it’s worth it!
I don’t know about you, but this quarantine tried to do a number on me mentally, emotionally, and physically—but I kept praying about it. I woke up a few weeks ago and made a decision that I was going to exercise (at least) 15 mins/3 days a week. I know that may not seem like a big deal, but it is for me—especially when you’ve been trying to get back to a routine and stay motivated. Baby steps. It can be hard to get out of a “funk”, but you can do it! Don’t worry about anyone else. No comparing. It’s just you and YOU! Just grind. I’ve been down this road too many times since 2016 (after my Mom passed), but I keep finding my way back. *cue Beyoncé*.
I’ve been inspired by so many people and having my Peloton bike has been a GODSEND! I even canceled my gym membership. I can’t tell you enough how grateful I am that I made this investment a few years ago. Look, if you are thinking about it, check out this post, pray about it, and do what’s best for YOU! If you do decide, check out the end of this post for a referral code to save you some coins!

GETTING BACK ON TRACK WITH PELOTON
Peloton has been an added blessing for so many reasons. Even when I returned to Disney for the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, I used the Outdoor (Audio) for my 10K. S/o to Olivia and Rebecca for coaching me through my first Disney race since 2016!
Since I committed to doing at least 15 minutes/three times a week, I’ve been trying out new classes. Chelsea Jackson Roberts even had me up early on a Sunday morning doing yoga! I like yoga and the idea of it, but something about me looking like Rubik’s Cube in the middle of mat is just quite comical. Give me African dance, Zumba, kickboxing, meditation, but yoga? Lol! But at least I try—and I enjoy it!

Since I haven’t updated in a while, here are some of my favorite rides or rides that I plan on taking soon:
- PRINCE RIDE – PRINCE! That’s it! There’s nothing else to be said. (8/12/2020) this is a duo ride with Ally Love and Emma Lovewell.
- 20 min Hip Hop ride (6/6/2020) with Alex Toussaint was very challenging for me, but I made it through and got a PR! Whoot! Also, if you’re a Nipsey Hussle fan, you’re in for a treat! Grab your Kleenex. Oh, and y’all know how I feel about his Club Banger Rides!
- 20 min Yoga Flow with Chelsea (Hey, Soror!) – Perfect for a Saturday or Sunday morning to rest your mind from the week and prepare for the next. It almost felt like a meditation class. I also didn’t realize how much I needed yoga in my life until I took this class.
- 90s Ride (7/29/2020) with Tunde Oyeneyin – high energy and only 15 minutes to get it done! You can do that, right?
- 45 min Intermediate Yoga Flow with Chelsea 8/19/2020.
- 10 min Meditation, Breathe In, Speak Up with Chelsea from 6/3/2020. So necessary, especially during these times. Self-care.
- 45 min Lil Wayne Ride with Alex – already know this one is going to be a banger!
- Afrobeats Ride with Tunde 8/20/2020. Fun ride!
- Matt Wilpers or Christine D’Ercole’s Power Zone rides. Their rides seem more advanced, but just roll with it.
- Just took a Hip Hop class by Kendall Toole from 7/29/2020, and I’m a fan!
- Update! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Chelsea and Aditi Shah’s Restorative Yoga classes! These are especially my favorites after a long, stressful week or if I need to de-stress—mind, body, and soul! I also love Aditi’s Sleep Meditation classes.
- Denis Morton and Ross Rayburn are becoming regulars in my rotation for meditation and yoga.
My Upcoming Rides
- I haven’t taken classes from Hannah Frankson, so I’m looking forward to those in the upcoming weeks!
- I’m excited about strength classes with resistance bands. I just ordered these bands and these bands off of Amazon (affiliate links). Save those coins, sis!
- I took my first Barre class, but I’ll report back after a few under my belt!
I hope to keep this momentum going. As for you (too), just know that all it takes is a little bit of effort and you’ll be carried the rest of the way.

It is awesome and has been a huge blessing! Definitely consider it. Lots of other classes to take besides cycling too.
