The topics of Gratitude and Happiness have been showing up a lot lately, whether it be in casual conversation or intimate conversations with friends. You may even see 30 Days of Gratefulness (or Thankfulness) around the holiday season. It’s basically where each day in the month of November you write or share one thing you’re grateful for. I’ve participated in the past, but I didn’t want to wait until the holidays. I want to be intentional about being present and mindful regarding gratitude in the now. I believe by doing so, gratitude will flow into every area of my life.
I’m sharing two journals that I’m incredibly excited about! One is 52 Lists for Happiness: Weekly Journaling Inspiration for Positivity, Balance, and Joy by Moorea Seal (Thank you to my friend, Ashley, of MommyWeek for sharing this journal). The other journal is the Growing in Gratitude Journal: 150 Days of Expressing Thanks by Alexandra Elle. Both journals will serve as a guide to practicing happiness/joy and gratitude through reflection. Even when it comes to the little things. I’m extremely blessed, but putting it on paper will give me a new perspective. I actually look at writing down my thoughts and words of gratitude as a form of self-care and affirmation.
Think about it. How many times have we overlooked our own needs to tend to the needs of others? Or put our own dreams and goals on hold for something or someone else? I believe when we love, care, and nurture ourselves, we can then invest in and serve others better.
The root of joy is already inside of you. —Moorea Seal
With this new season, I will be intentional about journaling and focusing on the positive. I know the transition into fall/winter can put some people in a slump, and for others SAD (seasonal affective disorder) is a real thing. Trust me, I’ve dealt with it in the past. But what if we turned our season of gratitude and happiness into seasons? I believe if we take the time to write down the things we’re grateful for, we can shift low vibrational energy into positive energy — which will open up an abundance of blessings in ALL areas of our lives.
I’m excited about this journey of gratitude and happiness, and I hope you are too!
