New to Peloton? Here I’m sharing my Peloton Three-Week Update including my favorite classes, new classes, new milestones and my excitement around all things Peloton.
I thought it was a good time to share a three-week update being that I have now 12 rides under my belt + a few other classes. Woo-hoo! I can honestly say that I’m absolutely loving my Peloton experience thus far. I’ve received a few achievements since my first ride:
- 10+ Rides: completing 10 (or more) cycling workouts
- First Yoga Workout: This was my first time doing yoga (for real, for real)
- First Stretching Workout: Totally worth it and I highly recommend, even on a rest day
- Three’s Company Badge: working out with 2 friends (this was cute)
- 3-Week Streak: working out 3 weeks in a row
- High-fives from other riders
I’ve also enjoyed seeing how many WW (Weight Watchers) Fitpoints I earn during my rides. And yes, Peloton syncs with Fitbit via HR monitor (which syncs to my WW account). With the exception of one class, I’ve only taken previously aired classes. The first two weeks, I took classes catered towards beginners, like the 20-minute beginner classes. I slowly eased into 30-45 minute classes over the past week or so. I heard a lot about Alex Toussaint’s Live Hip-Hop ride from my line sister, so I knew I wanted to take it. Then I discovered there was a Club Bangers ride so that immediately got my attention!
Saturday morning while warming up for my Hip-Hop ride, HB noticed something seemed off with my pedal. After pedaling a bit, I noticed my foot shifting inward. Yikes! Next thing I knew my whole pedal fell SLAP off! I knew that whatever had just happened was NOT good. I was LIVID! I called the 1-800 number, sent in photos, and found out the technician stripped the hole to the pedal and crank. That part of the bike had to be completely replaced. The good thing is Peloton did respond to my request fairly quickly. I had my new replacement parts and my bike was scheduled to be repaired the next day. I was back up and riding in 4 days.
When the pedal is assembled wrong, the first two pictures show what it should NOT look like. The last photo shows how it should look (flush) when assembled properly.
HIP-HOP + CLUB BANGERS RIDE
After I was back in the saddle, I was excited to see that Alex had the same two LIVE classes on the following Saturday. Because the classes were back-to-back I figured I would give it a shot. I did the 30-minute Hip-Hop ride first (which was awesome), followed by the 45-minute Club Bangers ride + Post-Ride Stretch. When I tell you these were true club hits! Alex took me all the way back to my college days at Smitty City! We rode to “Knuck If You Buck”…The Notorious B.I.G., Lil Wayne, Travis Scott and more. I loved it! Disclaimer: Use your discretion if you choose this class.
I ended the day after completing 15+ miles. I burned lots of calories, did a Yoga Flow class with Aditi Shah, and a Stretching class with Chase Tucker. I guess you can say that I made up for lost time after the fiasco from the previous Saturday.
