In my previous post, I mentioned that 2016 will be the year of celebrating non-scale victories! There are so many things we can bring out the party favors for other than the numbers on the scale.
I often times get overwhelmed and frustrated if I don’t have a plan. That’s why I think it’s important to focus on one goal at a time. Once I write down my vision, get a plan in place, then I can start focusing on more goals. My new year goals are simple: find ways to incorporate healthy habits into my lifestyle.
Is it too early to celebrate? Of course not! NON-SCALE VICTORY ALERT! A healthy habit that I have incorporated into the new year is eating a salad every day. I wanted to commit to eating more veggies, so I thought this would be the perfect way. Salads don’t have to be boring. There are so many ways you can enjoy them: salad in a jar, mixed in greens with tuna or chicken salad, broccoli salad, or even with your favorite fruits! I also love Greek salad, tossed salad, taco salad, and my old faithful favorite, Fajita Chicken Salad!
Start Fresh with Healthy Habits
I have partnered with Sprouts Farmers Market for their New Year campaign — The 21-Day Healthy Habits Challenge. I know that we are a few days into January, but it’s never too late to start! In 2016, Sprouts wants to encourage customers to make small, achievable changes — in the form of healthy habits — that over the long-run will equal big rewards to their overall health. The 21-Day Healthy Habits Challenge will run through 1/21. All you have to do is fill out the 21-Day Healthy Habits Challenge form. You will also be entered to win groceries for a year from Sprouts! How sweet is that?
NOTE: The challenge is now over.

What a fun challenge! Have you read The Power of Habit? It’s an awesome book about how to ditch bad habits and create new, good ones!

What a great challenge! I am on a 21 day reset right now and have taken sugar out of my diet to see how it makes me feel. So far, so good :) I love your idea of having a salad every day. I will have to try the salad in the jar idea and that chicken fajita salad looks SO good! Have a great day!

I need to drink more water and start having more consistent meal times. Wish there were Sprouts stores near me!

Love this! Eating more veggies is one of my goals too! I’ve been making salads in a jar ahead of time to help get me there.

The new year is always good for new beginnings. I have done a great job eliminating some extra sugar and calories from my diet in the form of iced coffees. I miss them, but I am replacing with water and it’s better for me in the long run. Best of luck in your journey though a healthier year!

What a great contest! I have been trying to change my nutrition. I started last week. I’m now wondering if I should sign up for some sort of contest or group idk so I can have more accountability.
