I first heard about Open Hands Overflowing Hearts (OHOH) thanks to my Princess friends. OHOH was founded by Princess Kayla Perry who was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma back in 2012. It was obvious that funding for pediatric cancer research was very scarce so Kayla’s passion was to change that. You must read her story! She is a remarkable young woman inspiring others as she walks through her personal journey.
Over the Princess Half Marathon weekend, I was able to see for myself that there is POWER in numbers. Leading up to Princess weekend, the Main Street Memories Princesses raised $20,000 to help fund childhood cancer research. That’s a big deal! I knew it was time for me to join them.

The 2nd Annual OHOH 10K, 5K, & 1 Mile Fun Run will take place on March 26, 2016 in Helena, Ala. If you can’t make it, you can run or walk virtually or participate in the sleep in! Whatever you decide, you will be spreading awareness and helping to raise money for pediatric cancer research. This will be an amazing day to honor sweet Kayla, Joey Colt, and all of the other sweet children who are battling cancer or who have transitioned to heaven. This event is for all runners and walkers. I hope to see you there! Please share this event with everyone you know.

I love it when we can put our passion for running into a great cause and help someone who truly needs it. Runners are the best fundraisers

What a great cause. I’m a pediatric ICU nurse, so I take care of kids with cancer all of the time. You can’t beat the cause!!

Sounds like a great cause to help raise funds and awareness for. I’ll have to look into the virtual option.
