October is here and it’s really starting to feel like my favorite season, Fall! The sky is absolutely beautiful and the cool air is perfect for football…ROLL TIDE and GO BLAZERS!!! But it’s not just about football. There is so much going on this month and we can all get involved!
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month and even the NFL goes “Pink” to support the cause! Most of us have been gearing up to participate with Susan G. Komen For The Cure! The Race for the Cure in my city is October 15th and I’m so excited! I’m really glad that my running group, Black Girls Run (Birmingham), has given me a head start to prepare!
I’ve never been more excited to participate in something so dear to me, the fight against cancer. I have many family and friends that have been affected by breast cancer in some way or another. My Dad also battled cancer (lung) and passed away in 2004. Any way I can get involved to tackle this disease (in whatever form) I am down! Here is more information about Understanding Breast Cancer. Please visit the Susan G. Komen link above for more information and details about how you can get involved! You can also donate to the cure on my personal page here!
And remember…THINK PINK and CHECK YOUR TA-TAS (MEN TOO)!!!
