I saw a recipe pass through my newsfeed from My Healthy Dish about a week ago and thought it would be PERFECT for Valentine’s Day, especially since February is American Heart Month! I love a good, healthy recipe and it gave me an excuse to finally put my new rice cooker to use my Sissy gave me for Christmas. I have an Aroma 20-Cup Digital Rice Cooker and Food Steamer and it’s pretty cool. It cooks rice, steams, and it can also be used as a slow-cooker. I know you’re like 20 cups? Yep! And I plan on making an authentic Paella dish soon (perhaps for a party). You can purchase it here!
The first time I was going to use it, I was in for a surprise. We were having “Indian Night” and I found a yummy organic (brown) basmati rice at our local Earth Fare…but little did I know it takes brown rice longer to cook *blank stare*. I was ready the next time. Thanks to the “delay” feature, it worked with my schedule and it was ready on time! In the cooker it took the brown rice about 92 minutes to cook.
I was happy the way this recipe turned out! I served my Grilled Garlic Red Chicken with fresh steamed broccoli and brown basmati rice. Want to make it yourself? You can find the recipe on myhealthydish.com!
Don’t forget to go RED in February for American Heart Month! Find out more about it here.
Enjoy and SHARE THE LOVE!!!
