Garlic and Goat Cheese Yogurt Bites
An appetizer for any occasion.
HB and I have been spending less time eating out (inside of restaurants), then you realize you already have what you need on hand to get creative in the kitchen. Now that B1G Ten Football is back, someone decided to help me whip up some snacks and appetizers! One thing about us, whether we’re having a special brunch or entertaining family and friends, we’re going to keep good snacks around here.
Garlic, oh how I love thee!
I love garlic, especially fresh chopped garlic. I wasn’t always a “garlic girl”, but once I started creating recipes and sauces using this deliciously, necessary ingredient, it has been a foodie affair ever since.
We love easy appetizers.
For these yumtastic Bites, all you need is GARLIC, of course. Greek yogurt, goat cheese, olives, and saltine crackers. Blend it together, and throw in some fresh parm, a little cracked, black pepper, and seasonings. Chill and serve. Take a bite — and voila! It’s really that simple.
What kind of crackers or wafers can I use?
Feel free to use any style of wafer or cracker that you like. Saltines work great with this easy recipe because saltines are a staple in most households. You can also use a buttery-style cracker or wafer to change up the flavor profile. Still just as delicious!
If You’re Vegan or Vegetarian
- If you’re vegan or vegetarian, try Violife Feta Cheese in place of Goat Cheese.
- Plant-based yogurts like cashew or oat milk yogurt are a great replacement for Greek yogurt.
- You can find Vegan Parm shreds by several brands. Check your local grocery market.
Tips and Tricks
-
- To maintain the crunch and texture of your saltine crackers, dress your crackers when ready to serve.
- In addition to the parsley and parmesan, feel free to add goat cheese crumbles on top.
- The Greek yogurt flavor may be bland to some, so feel free to adjust to your palate.
- Another option: substitute yogurt with the French onion dip like you would serve with potato chips.
- Kalamata olives have pits (stones). If you can find them without the pits they will be easier for you to eat. It’s all about preference.
