Can you believe it!?!? I FINALLY DID IT!!! I’ve been natural 6 years and I wasn’t quite sure if I was ready to take that step to permanent locs. So for about a year now, I’ve been contemplating getting loc extensions. Well the time has come! With a little research and true DEDICATION and INSPIRATION…I did! This is not an easy task. It took me 17 1/2 hours and a lot of breaks! I still can’t believe I did it my dayum self! I am very proud of my achievement. I have considered locking my hair for quite some time, but I change my hair A LOT. However, this is a great protective style and a great way to change up your look!
Here are few pics!
I plan to revisit them again probably in the Spring/Summer, in hopes to keep them longer. Your first time is always a learning process, so the next time will be even better. I am a natural that LOVES changing my hair! Wearing the same look (for me) is boring! Besides, variety is the spice of life!
Have a Fierce Friday and a fantastic weekend!

Beautiful! Now wait, I need a tutorial on this. What hair (yarn? huh? LOL) did you use? Those look just like my locs did when I had them. Ready to lock again now and I can’t wait, but I have to get your look RIGHT NOW… Love it. Great work, but I don’t think I can do it myself now. Chronic pain and hairstyling do not mix well.
Gorgeous!

Thank you so much! Actually there are several ways to do it. Some use afro kinky hair (synth or human), Marley braid hair (what I used), and I’m sure there are other ways. I’m actually going to try another method I found. YT has tons of vids. You can kind of pick and choose from there to see which route to go. It is a task so I totally understand not doing it yourself. Although I’m happy with the results, I’ll be revisiting them very soon in hopes of a more perfected look. Thank you for reading!

Thanks Tam!!! I can honestly say they turned out great for my first time. I can’t wait to redo them. I’ll keep them in longer…who knows I may even decide to loc permanently! ;)

Lol! Canada is a wee bit far away from down South! I’m sure you can find an awesome braidstress there :)
