This past Sunday (Funday) my HB and I decided to try out a new spot! I heard several people talk about this place called The Egg & I, so before our movie we thought we’d check it out. It must have been the place to be, because everyone was there! You get to load up on protein and carbs plus cheese eggs are the BEST! I had a hard time choosing what I wanted because EVERYTHING on the menu sounded amazing! I could taste it!
I went with the Wisconsin Scramble. It had 3 cheeses, topped with green onions and served with your choice of bacon or sausage, toast, and can’t forget those Ranch Potatoes–YUMMO!

I also wanted to try their pancakes. They were a popular menu item from what I observed. I asked my server for the smallest pancake they had which is the “baby cake” (pictured above) and it’s HUGE! I wish you could have seen my face. It’s on the thinner side, but it was totally more than what I was expecting.
If you have The Egg & I in your city, you should definitely check it out. Great food and family friendly atmosphere.
Next Stop…the Movies!
I went to the movies to see Fruitvale Station two weeks prior and I was so excited when I saw the previews for Lee Daniels’ The Butler. Oprah Winfrey, Jane Fonda, AND John Cusack?! I knew it was going to be a great film! I laughed and cried every single tear I had. The cast was STELLAR and I was riddled with emotion. I encourage EVERYONE to go see it–Powerful! A very heartfelt exhibition of the Civil Rights Era and our American history.
Cutie pie James Marsden as John F. Kennedy. You may remember him from X-Men, Enchanted, and 27 Dresses!
Oprah Winfrey (Gloria Gaines) was excellent alongside Forest Whitaker (Cecil Gaines-the Butler)
I was excited to see Yaya Alafia (previously DaCosta) on the big screen! I’ve been following this beautiful, young lady since her America’s Next Top Model (ANTM) career. Loved seeing her in the role as an activist. It’s a very close depiction of her real life as she is an advocate for many issues that affect us.
