This Chocolate Chip Banana Bread is outrageously delicious! Loaded with semi-sweet chocolate chips (and chopped pecans which are totally optional). It’s the perfect amount of sweetest for breakfast and a great way to use up those leftover bananas.

I had leftover bananas that I didn’t want to go to waste, so I made this delicious LOADED Chocolate Chip Banana Bread. OK, so I went a little crazy with the chocolate chips and a few times I even added pecans, but it turned out ahhh-mazing! I hadn’t made banana bread in years, and honestly, I don’t make it enough. I promise we won’t stay away this long again!
Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Ingredients:
Ripe Bananas
Pure Vanilla Extract
Large Eggs
Unsalted Butter
Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
Light Brown Sugar
White Granulated Sugar
Baking Soda
Kosher Salt
Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
Ground Cinnamon, optional
Pecans, optional
Swaps and Revisions for Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
To make this sugar-free, swap out brown and white sugar for Truvia Sweet Complete Brown (Stevia Leaf Brown with a hint of Molasses) and Truvia Sweet Complete Granulated All Purpose.
To cut back on sugar, you can use sugar-free chocolate chip morsels. I like Lily’s – No Sugar Added. Adjust to your liking.
Storage
Wrap in plastic wrap or place in a container for 4-5 days. Banana Bread can also be placed in the freezer to enjoy later. I recommend 3 months or less. Place parchment or wax paper in between slices to ensure they don’t stick together. When ready to enjoy, bring to room temperature and/or heat for a few seconds in the microwave or air fryer.

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
Ingredients
- 3 bananas, medium to large, mashed ripe bananas with specks is best if you want them on the sweeter side
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs lightly beaten
- 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter 1 stick
- 1¾ cups unbleached all-purpose flour I use scoop and sweep method
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar lightly packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon fine kosher salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, optional
- 1/2 cup pecans optional
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350F degrees.
- Grease a 9 in x 5 in x 2.5 in loaf pan with butter, oil, or cooking spray.
- Whisk together dry ingredients: all-purpose flour, salt, white sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, and cinnamon in a large bowl.
- Next, whisk wet ingredients: eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract in a medium bowl.
- Stir in mashed bananas then add wet ingredients to the flour/dry ingredients and fold in. Make sure mixture is combined well. Note: You can also use a hand mixer if you have one handy.
- Pour the batter into greased pan and lightly and evenly distribute batter.
- Bake about 50 minutes to 1 hour until golden brown. Before removing loaf of bread, check to make sure your toothpick or butter knife comes out clean).
- Let the bread cool for 10-15 minutes in the pan, then turn out onto a baking rack to finishing cooling.
- Slice, serve, and enjoy!
