I love this space because it has been such a Godsend and creative outlet over the years.
How it all started…
Back in 2008, I joined WW to begin my body-positive, lifestyle journey. After joining WW’s, my love for fitness and cooking ignited (even more). Years later, I decided I wanted to create a space to share my experiences, ups and downs, victories, recipes, workouts, challenges, and whatever else you can think of. I wanted to put something different out there, especially for people who look like me. I’m not “skinny” and I’m far from perfection. I am a curvy girl or what some call plus-size or full-figured. I don’t have a six-pack, I’m not an elite runner, and I love occasional indulgences and cooking good food, too! I love staying active and striving to improve myself daily.
My Running Journey
Running became a great passion of mine and continues to show me that I CAN go the distance and do whatever I put my mind to! I started distance running in 2011. I am also a back-of-the-pack runner, and because it was a great challenge for me—I kept pushing! When I started running, I couldn’t jog 15 seconds without being winded. As of today, I have completed several distances starting with a 5K (too many to count). I would have never considered becoming a distance runner if it weren’t for my faith in God, my abilities, and Jeff Galloway’s: Galloway Method. I have gone on to complete: one official 15K, several 10Ks, 15 half marathons (13.1 miles), and FOUR full marathons (26.2 miles) in the same year — 2015! Never in a million years would I have believed that I could run a marathon. I am a PROUD back-of-the-pack’er and I give my all! I hope to be a source of inspiration to those who may feel discouraged on their running journey. This journey has been doused with nuggets of wisdom and life lessons. Trust me…I’ve been there and I’m still doing the dang thang! I‘m a marathoner—and the rest is history in the making! If I can do it, YOU can do it, too!

Creating experiences through food!
Whether you want to start your baking journey or your fitness journey—all you have to do is take the first step! When it comes to food, NOTHING is off-limits. This community is where FOODIES unite as well as celebrate all victories. My Mom was such an incredible cook and when I prepare meals, I do so with her mind. She is a big part of why I love sharing experiences through food. So whether you want to start cooking, try new recipes, complete a specific distance of running, or begin a (self-defined) healthy, lifestyle journey—you can do it! It’s about body positivity, self-love, finding YOUR happy pace, and enjoying the ride!
When I’m not riding my bike or hitting the pavement, you will find me creating recipes with my hubby (HB), sharing fun foods, capturing food, and discovering good eats around my city and beyond—or perhaps somewhere shopping for houseplants or possibly in our garden.
